If you're voted one of the best burgers in the city, I'm sure to give you a try and twice now I've had killer meals at Joey B's. This place is bigger inside than it looks from the outside but there's usually a good little crowd and a short wait during busy dinner hours and especially on the weekends. On my last visit with friends, our waitress Meredith was busy and a bit overwhelmed but she was genuinely apologetic for our wait for food and was great despite being spread too thin. The house salad is a must meal starter, the green onion, salami and provel are nice differences from typical house salads you see elsewhere. The house dressing in creamy but not too heavy. The firecracker chicken sandwich has a nice kick but the real star here are the burgers. Joey B's knows what they're doing with the house burger - topped with lightly-battered fried onions and soft cheddar cheese, cooked to order. The pizzas and pastas always look great and I need to diverge from a burger to give one of these other options a whirl on my next visit. They're heavy with the sides - mountains of fries and onion rings the size of hubcaps. Greasy greasy good.

The food here is just ok and a little bit greasy. It is pretty standard bar food but generally more expensive than other bars. Really, there is no reason to make the trek here if you don't live close as I am sure that there is some bar near your house that has similar food and doesn't require a drive. As for what I got, I had the ribeye sandwich which was pretty average. Not the greatest meat but still solid. The fries weren't bad and they give you a ton of them but fries are fries. They had a pretty standard collection of beer here, actually somewhat small for a bar type place but enough that anyone could find something they like. It was pretty loud in there but then again what you would expect at a place like this. All in all it was ok and pretty standard but not worth the drive. If you are looking for an easy lunch come here if you live close but not if you are far away.

One of my favorite salads served here : their Buffalo chicken salad. I get the chicken grilled and add egg. So good. All servings here are large. Especially the onion rings. Good prices too. Never will leave hungry or broke.

Great menu, food for everyone. Service was decent at best, but it was lunch rush and the food made up for it. Would not expect anything gourmet, but a great chicken sandwich or what looked like good burgers / pizza's. Will definitely return for some beers and a game. Cool place.

Went to Joey B's on a Sunday. After reading the reviews on Yelp while waiting for a table I decided to get the chicken veggie pizza..yum! It was great but definitely enough for 2 people. Husband had pepperoni he said it was okay. Mom had the jalapeno burger and said it was good. It's a bar atmosphere, lots of tvs. The server was nice and attentive but the entrees took almost 40 minutes to come out and we did not have an appetizer. Good place to go and watch the game and maybe chill with friends.

We went to the Hill to use a gift certificate for Zias but they were closed on Sundays. So we drove around and found Joey Bs. I had never eaten there and was not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was great the service was great and the staff is all very friendly and helpful. We have 2 kids and they enjoyed pizza from the kids menu and they looked like a small pizza from the adult menu. I tasted the pizza and they were very good stl style pie. I had the chicken modega and my wife had the chicken parm. We barley finished 1/2 of the huge orders. Very tasty dishes and the salads were excellent as was the white pasta that came with the entree. All and all i have to give 5 stars because for the money everything was perfect. I wish we lived closer because I am sure we would go there at least once a month. Nice looking bar side also with many many TVs through the building. Nice outside tables as well. Attention Yelp - Joey Bs is open Sundays.

My fiance hosted his son's rehearsal dinner here in December. The service was great and the food was delicious! I had some kind of pasta in lemon sauce (ordered without the chicken) that we all agreed was wonderful, and everyone else seemed happy with their food as well (there were a lot of Chicken Parm and various other dishes that people were ohhing and ahhing over.) If I lived in the area, I'd be going back!

I visited Joey B's for lunch today. My experience was just ok. They were busy. The waiter was friendly and helpful, but service was slow and our food took a long time to come out. The decor is a tad nicer than your average sports bar, but the layout is fractured into several small compartments and they have flat screen TVs galore, but they are not positioned in a way that most of the seated folks can comfortably watch the game. The menu consists of standard pizza, salad, sandwiches and pasta fare. My lunch partner ordered a burger and liked it. I ordered the tutto mare and was disappointed. It was slopped in the bowl, drowning in sauce and too rich to eat more than a few bites. The clam flavor was strong and overpowered the remainder of ingredients. My salad was soggy and too sweet. I know that local Italian salads have a tendency to be sweet, but this one was seriously over the top. Prices were a little high for the quality of food. Overall, my experience was just OK. I will go back if others invite me, but I won't go out of my way to eat here. BTW, I'm getting bored with the argument about provel cheese. It is a local favorite. Every area around the country has a "cheese" that's typically used, and here it is provel. Giving a restaurant 1-star because they serve a local favorite is ridiculous. Also, just because you've "been around" doesn't mean you are a cheese expert. I've been around the world and most of the states in this great country and the argument can be made that most of the cheese available today isn't real. If you don't like it, don't eat it.

When my family and I went on a wild goose chase to see if there were any places still serving food after 10:30 PM, we were guided to Joey B's. The wait staff was extremely friendly and the kitchen still served us late at night. The side salads that came with our meals were huge and we got a very generous helping of dressing, too. I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was good, but I'll probably try something different if I go again. My dad got the Pomodoro...which was fantastic. If I have the chance to go back to Joey B's I am getting that for sure. Very impressed with Joey B's and I love that it serves food late.

If the menu had a few more veggie options, I'd give Joey B's on The Hill 5 stars. The pizza here is hands down the best St. Louis Style pizza I've ever had. Also be sure to try the pretzel bites for an appetizer-scrumptous little nibbles they are. This is a great, clean and updated addition to the famous Hill area of STL. Many of the old favorites could take a lesson from what Joey has done here- beautiful patio, flat screens you can see from every angle, nice Italian menu, and updated decor.

Service was great, but the pasta I had was basically a pound of pasta swimming in a stick of melted butter. There were maybe 2 mushrooms. My boyfriend said his burger was great.

My best friend and I laughed and laughed the first time we drove by this place after it changed over from the old Bartolino's. I mean, the sign is SO HOKEY! It's all big and neon and it looks like this ridiculous font...it's hard to explain unless you see it, but you just don't think it could be good...it looks so....well, neon frat house light.... However, I was sorely mistaken. This food was amazing. No, there are not a huge array of veggie options, and yes, that always irritates me. However, the pizza made up for my irritation and was big enough to take home for a late night snack later (I mean seriously, isn't this what we all do with leftover pizza? It never makes it to another meal...just be honest about it people!) Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the price wasn't horrible for our group. Oh, and the patio is amazing...definitely worth the wait in nice weather.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME I heard that this place had the best burger in St. Louis - not true. In fact, most of the menu wasn't that appealing as almost everything is topped with provel cheese - If you've ever been outside of St. Louis, you'll realize this isn't a real cheese - more importantly it tastes like melted plastic. Aside from that, I went there with my fiance on Saturday night around 7:00 pm. We waited 15 minutes to receive our first drinks and it went downhill from there. We were there more than an hour before our burgers were served to us. The manager was nice enough to apologize and give us each a complimentary drink (which is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one), but that didn't make up for the lackluster burgers - way too heavy on the cheese, grease and butter and way too lacking on flavor. This place is definitely not worth the hype - the food is not worth the incredibly long wait (our only explanation is that they weren't "used to having the patio open and it [was] a really busy night". Well, if you have a restaurant with a patio, then you should be able to accommodate people in a timely manner. Greasy burger, extremely greasy fries, slow service.....and all for the low cost of $44 dollars (with the $5 tip we left). Save your money and go to McD's where you can get a consistently good Big Mac that TRUMPS the hell out of the burgers at Joey B's

Everyone can find something to like at Joey B's. We love their thin crust pizzas. The pastas are huge but also have half sizes. The barbeque pork sandwich is very tasty. They use Kenricks barbeque sauce, which is amazing. The only disappoint for me is their burgers. They are not that great.

I drove past Joey B's a thousand times on Hampton before I finally decided to give it a try to watch a game. I'm now a regular. Joey B's Cowboy Burger is my favorite burger in St. Louis. It is a 10 oz. burger patty topped with soft cheddar cheese, a heap of onion straws, BBQ sauce, and all the fixins. This burger is the stuff of legend. I have made an effort to sample the rest of their menu and have been just as impressed with their pizza, wings, salads, and other sandwiches. I have always had excellent service here and have never had to wait too long to be seated. The dining room and bars have enough TVs that you should be able to see your game of choice. My only criticism is that there is no Budweiser on draft, but I can forgive that since the food is so good. Prices are affordable and the portions are huge. A great place to check out a game and get a great meal.

Joey B's on the Hill is a nice change to the old space prior (bartolino's). The space is updated with a fresh new look. The environment is casual, with TV's on every wall. So if you are looking for a place to catch a game and have a good meal come here. I did notice on the wall by the bar, that there are happy hour specials Monday - Friday, and Sunday game drink specials. The menu is your standard fare that you find on the hill.... Pizza, Pasta and Variety of meat dishes. I personally went for the pizza, which has been my personal favorite at the downtown location. I heard diners around me complimenting their food and really enjoying what they were eating. In addition, Joey B's has a children's menu and is trying to be more than 'just a bar' The only thing that I did not care for was a couple of the waitresses were "venting" about some of their tables in front customers. In addition, being one of a handful of tables the service was slow. This certainly will not prevent me from going in the future, but I did want to note that part of my experience.

Good food, HUGE portions. Service has always been good. They are adding another location in Concord Plaza (South County), yay!

The food here is good, the service is courteous and personable, the portions are too big. Complaining about large portions sounds insane, until you order anything off the Joey B's menu. What's even worse, management decided that they didn't want anyone splitting these massive coma-inducing plates of food, so that's not allowed unless you pay an additional fee. This is sillyness, and the only place I've been where that is the case in this price range, I mean, it's not fine-dining we're talking about here. It's American - Italian. Anyway, definitely arrive hungry, the food won't disappoint.

Only reason this place doesn't get a 5 is because of some service issues. We had a party of 8 with a 5 month old in tow as well. Unfortunately they do not take reservations so we ended up waiting about 30 minutes or so for a table, but we got one corner of the patio to ourselves on a beautiful night. While waiting at the bar the bartenders were not friendly nor willing to stop chatting with each other to answer a question or two. Once seated our waitress was quick to greet us and place our orders, not very friendly or interested in interacting with us but efficient at her job. We asked her for a high chair which were being used so we asked for an extra chair which she advised we could try to find one on our own. It did take quite awhile for our food to arrive but like I said we had a big group and were enjoying our conversations. Once our food arrived I was blown away by the portions, they were enormous (especially the pasta dishes)! I myself ordered the Crispy Chicken salad and it was fantastic. Lots of restaurants are stingy with the chicken but this one was covered, I actually had to push some to the side to see if there was lettuce beneath it. I dived in and was immediately in love with this salad: fresh crisp lettuce not a wilted or brown piece in the bunch, a great ranch dressing and provel cheese (which I swapped from the standard cheddar cheese) all combined for a delicious meal. Most of my companions were also extremely pleased with their meals. After eating only 1/3 of my meal I had to stop I was so stuffed. Nearly everyone at the table had to get a to go box. As for the price of this meal it was wonderful especially when compared to the size of your meal. Mine was 8.99 for something I'll be able to eat for 3 meals easily. Needless to say I will definitely be back here and encourage everyone to give it a try. With better service this would have been a 5 star.

I am bumping Joey B's up to four stars for the environment and what may be the best Buffalo Chicken sandwich in town (the Cardinal Chicken). Great place to eat and watch the game. Always a good vibe here.

The food here is excellent. We had this as a to go order on Friday and we will definitely be coming here again. The portions are very large and they tasted good. The price was reasonable as well. We had the Hill Special (a sandwich with salami, ham, turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion on french bread) and it was 7.99 but I had half the sandwich left and a handful of chips. The reason I put 4 stars was the sandwich was missing the tomato and onion and they told us, our order would be ready at 11:25 and I was there until 11:40 so expect to be there a few minutes longer for a to go order.

This place is honestly not that good, the food is incredibly inexpensive for what cheap options they give you along with a menu that is trying to be feel good american cuisine but clearly oversteps its bounds offering too many dissonant options. The pizza uses an american cheese on its "gourment pizza" a terrible and sharp option with $3 toppings for veggies! The bread is just some pre-packaged soft preservative filled white bread. They claim the food network reviewed this place and I am honestly surprised I would have made better food any day in my own kitchen and I'm neither an italian nor a chef. Blame it on cheap ingredients and a complete focus on cost savings and profit making for the business. Not even any italian options besides maybe the ravioli and well I won't call the pizza italian so really nothing, go to applebees people they will give you better food and you won't feel duped.

Popped in for an impromptu dinner before 6 pm last night. Didn't realize they had special pricing during this time. My food was fresh and fast. The salad was tasty, my chicken breast was tender and my asparagus were crisp. All that for $9.99. It was busy with happy hour going on by the bar and plenty of folks having dinner on the other side, but I didn't have a wait at all. For a Monday night you couldn't beat the food, price, portions, and service. I'll definitely go again.

Excellent place to eat! Came here for my birthday for the first time and the food was absolutely delicious. Had the fire cracker burger and it was way more than enough to eat. Waitress was extremely nice and made sure we were taken care of. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I met a couple girlfriends after work last evening. We sat at a high-top in the bar. Got beverages. Julie was our happy server . . . entirely and ever attentive. One of our threesome was intent on getting something called "Chicken Littles," which are now NOT on the menu -- four sliders of white-meat fried chicken with melted cheese. Comes with lettuce, tomato, white onion and pickles. NOT AVAILABLE!! Well, our lovely Julie went to ask the chef if this was possible. She was back quickly, saying IT WAS!! So, all three of us ordered Chicken Littles. We also got loaded potato skins and pretzel bites to share. What a ridiculous feast. Everybody had to-go vessels. The Chicken Littles ($8.99) came with honey mustard and WARMED barbeque sauce. Two of us asked for Ranch dressing, which was readily provided. The little sandwiches were absolutely fabulous! The white-meat fried chicken was brimming outside of the bun. And the cheese was beautifully melted. I used the pickles, lettuce, onion and lettuce to complete my Chicken Little. I ate ONE! Why they aren't on the menu anymore, I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER know. A couple at the bar asked us what they were. They wanted them, too!! The loaded potato skins ($7.99) were served with sour cream. Six to the order. We each ate one. Yummy! Really lots of bacon. The pretzel bites ($6.99) were hot with nice sprinkles of coarse salt and served with a jalapeno cheese dip. This had some heat to it, but not too much. They were great! I don't know how many were in the serving, but they seemed endless! Happy hour is 3 p.m.-7 p.m. -- quite generous. And there are Early-Bird specials in the dining room for $8.95. My to-go vessels were three more meals!

Delicious food!! Huge portions!! - Great Value!. Excellent place to watch the game and let Joey B's take care of the food and drink. I often get my order to go on the way home from work. I need a good meal after a long day and if I don't have time to cook, they always have a home cooked meal waiting for me. Their pizzas are authentic Italian handmade pies and their pasta dishes will prove they've been passing family recipes down for many generations. They have a huge selection of appetizers with something to satisfy everybody The Onion Rings are so big my friend mistook them for a plate of donuts. They have the best Fried Chicken Plate I've ever had. Even their meatloaf plate is delicious. You know you're doing something right when people crave and brag about your meatloaf. Mike is the most accommodating manager I've ever met. Mike and his crew make you feel like you're part of the family. I highly recommend visiting them - anything you order will impress you and you will leave feeling like you just left your Italian mother's kitchen. YUM

Loved this place! What a great value and great service. If you like onion rings you must get these! The four on the side order will be enough as they are as big as dessert plates. The half order pastas at lunch includes salad and the house dressing is delicious. I had enough pasta left over, from the half order, to feed hubby and I later that evening. The servers were attentive and helpful! Everything was delicious.

Meh. After hearing nothing but rave reviews about Joey B's from numerous friends and family who still live in the STL area, I was excited to bring my boyfriend for his first meal in STL. During our estimated 45-minute wait, we saw many trays of food that looked delicious, so our excitement grew as we prepared to sit down. 90 minutes later, we finally did sit down--understandably, our patience was wearing thin. 15 minutes later, we were greeted by our server, who took another 10 minutes to bring us our drinks and take our order. My Diet Coke was flat, which is a major, major no-no in my book--when I sent it back and asked for a new one, the waitress brought me another flat Diet Coke. I stuck to water for the rest of my meal. We ordered the house salad and toasted ravioli to start, and my mom and I both ordered pastas while my boyfriend ordered a chicken dish as our main courses. The salad came out quickly, though we never received the Italian bread we saw on the other tables--even after asking for it. When our food came, none of us was particularly impressed by the food in front of us. All of it was okay and we ate it because we were hungry, but none of it was spectacular. I was particularly upset that after waiting for nearly 2 hours to eat, my boyfriend's first taste of STL Italian food was so disappointing. He didn't believe me when I told him that STL does have excellent Italian food in this neighborhood, which makes me very sad. I'm hoping our meal here was just a fluke and the food and service is normally better than what we experienced. We probably won't return--we'll stick to our other favorite spots on the Hill for better Italian food and Midwesten hospitality.

Wow- 45 minute wait for a chicken spedini and a cannelloni. Real bummer when they came out luke warm - now is back in the kitchen to heat it up- we will see.

I should start by saying that Joey B's was not what I expected. I drive by it every day on my way to work, and from the outside I figured it was a sports bar. And it is... sort of. It's also a place where you go for a mountain of a pasta entree. Seriously, the pastas probably feed 3 or 4 people. Same for the onion rings. This is also where you can get a meatloaf or chicken fried steak blue plate special (literally on a blue plate). Or where you go for a burger and a beer. Or wings. So it's kind of a confusing identity. Families, old couples, 20 somethings doing shots, and high school kids filling up before a school dance were who surrounded us when we went. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the place. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and the food wasn't bad. There just wasn't anything notable about it. Probably a good place to go if you have a group of people with different tastes, since Joey B's really tries to be everything to everybody. But if your heart is set on a particular specific menu item, you might find it done better somewhere else. There was one thing that was noteworthy... the fried cheese. I think it might be provel? It was very gooey, not like the fried cheese or cheese sticks I've had most other places. Good stuff. So if you like fried cheese, cannot make up your mind about what you want in a restaurant, and you think Maggiano's pasta portion sizes are too small, then Joey B's is the place for you.

What a GREAT experience! We found this place close to the hotel we are staying at and wanted to go in and have a few drinks and watch the game. We decided to sit at the bar and ordered a few drinks and some apps - the bartender, Stacy, was extremely busy but on her game. She was by far one of the best bartender/servers I have ever had wait on me. Our food and drinks were delicious as well. We ordered an appetizer combo and then pizza to go. Not as good as a Chicago Deep Dish, but it hit the spot. I would definitely come back on our next visit. A+++++ for service and food. Thank You

After looking through the hours of restaurants in the area, I figured out that Joey B's was one of few options open late enough for my guests who were arriving in town. We got here about 9:30, and the dinning room was almost entirely full. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but their dining room is small enough that with sitting at a middle table, I felt crowded. Joey B's has the biggest onion rings I've ever seen. After noticing a plate full going to another table, we ordered our own as an appetizer. They were quite tasty but incredibly difficult to eat, which I guess is the trade off for being huge. Everything else comes in huge portions, as well from the pasta to mashed potatoes. The buffalo chicken pizza was pretty good, but a few more vegetables for more flavor wouldn't hurt. I had a veggie burger and chips. The veggie burger was good; next time I will NOT be getting chips, as they were just okay. The chicken sandwich was a little dry, but their barbecue sauce mostly made up for it. Our server was really nice and really trying, though they were really busy so there were a few snags. Pros: open late, menu variety Neutral: taste, huge portions, service, rewards card Cons: busy (apparently all the time)

This one is going to be incredibly brief. I'd been on a search for the best Bleu Cheese dressing in St. Louis. Not only did I not find it at Joey B's, I am pretty sure that the dressing that was presented on my salad had turned the morning before. The lettuce in my salad certainly had turned anyway. It is just beyond me how anything can leave a professional kitchen, and nobody notices a brown bowl of lettuce. My burger was sure big... Big to the point that it had to be dissected in order to eat it. I ordered, I think it was the Cowboy burger or something similar. I remember the word cowboy, who knows. Greasy onion rings on top of a gelatinous blob of bbq sauce that oozed out of all sides when you attempted to handle the sandwich. This was a fork and knife job for sure. The fries were just that. Nothing special about them. I'm really disappointed too, because I really wanted to like this place after all of the good things that I have heard about it. I guess it helps if your consuming alcohol.

At first I was not pleased with my dining selection. The bar was LOUD for like 5 patrons. They seated my on the restaurant side which was much quieter although still loud. The server was great! I had the pretzel bites which were incredible they matched well with the cheese sauce. The server told me that the cheeseburger was voted best in St louis. It was great. It was overcooked. I ordered medium rare, it came out med well. Part of reason for four stars. They homemade chips were very good, but they would benefit from 20 sec in the microwave. It was expensive. The bill for food alone was over $20. Thus is the other reason for 4 stars. Burger, chips, and a half a pretzel???? I will come back, but not very often. :(

Very diverse menu. Joey B's covers the full spectrum with burgers, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, and soul food. I take customer's in for lunch, it always a hit. Plus my husband and I go to start a night out or for a hung over feast on Sunday. Really good St. Louis style house salad. Portions on everything are huge. It is always busy during eating hours but the service is good and they seem to get you seated fast.

I have been here once and will never be returning. I ordered a plain old pasta alfredo with angel hair. As soon as they brought it out I could tell it was overcooked. Its jiggled like jello, and it was watery and foamy. Authentic alfredo sauce could not be easier to make. It's heavy cream, parmesan cheese and butter. This sauce they used contained margarine, which NEVER works and tastes DIGUSTING and is super cheap of them to do. Also, it was so runny and bland. I barely took one bite before I sent it back. I swear I just wanted to go back to the kitchen and show them how it's done. It's sad that they are too lazy to make even the simplest of sauces well. Totally disappointing.

Wow...this place is just flat out good! I've never had a bad meal here. On my last visit for lunch we split the house burger and the chicken spedini sandwich. The house burger was topped with a mound of soft cheddar and fried onions. It was enormous, cooked perfectly, and packed a phenomenal amount of taste. The chicken spedini sandwich was also delicious. What a great concept! It was seasoned like chicken spedini, but pounded flat and topped with provel. It came with a lemon to squeeze over the top and, the sandwich as a whole, had a great burst of flavor. On past visits I've tried their pizza (some of the best STL style I've had - even just plain pepperoni is to die for), pretzel bites w/ cheese app (great - one of Ian Froeb's fav 100 of the year), and the regular chicken spedini (also some of the best I've had, but certainly not low cal). Their early-bird special is a great deal, too. On weekdays, 3-5 pm, for $9.95 - you get your choice of chicken spedini, a 6 oz steak, or chicken modega. It comes with a side of pasta and salad. The portions are slightly smaller, but you still receive plenty of food. It's a fantastic value. This place gets pretty busy, so I like to go on off hours to avoid the wait. A little wait is worth it, though. Joey B's on the Hill is just consistently good!

The food here is great. I was with a party of five, and everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed with their menu option. The pomodoro pasta was excellent, the pasta tutto mare was amazing, the cowboy burger was extremely flavorful. We also had spinach artichoke dip and toasted ravioli as an appetizer which was also delicious. I recommend it.

EVERY THING HERE IS HUGE. please listen to me when I tell you to share something... especially if you are like me and have a 5hr ride back to Chicago. First off the service was GREAT... food came out a little slow... okay a lot slow... but Meghan our server was soooo sweet, we are a crazy bunch and she played right along with us ! Thank you Meghan ! Okay now to the reason you are really reading this... the food !! Like I said everything is giant portions. The menu is large and very diverse, which can be good but not if you have trouble committing like me :-) We all started with an order of the Onion Rings, toted as Joey's legendary appetizer, I dare you to eat more than two, and with at least 10 to a serving plan on sharing. I had the Turkey Cibatta sandwich, it was good but I would try something new next time. The salads were huge, my friend loved her Blue Cheese and buffalo chicken salad, though it comes with pecans (and a lot of them) which honestly don't go with the hot wings well. ick. please take them off joey. I am sure this is a favorite with the locals and I see why !

I bet we have been to Joey B's On The Hill at least 50 times . . . lunch or dinner - always dependable! It is located in the old Bartalino's location before they moved down to be close to Hampton and I-44 several years ago. If you are lucky enough to get Shannon (red hair) or Karen (dark hair) as your server . . . you are in for a treat! Delicious sandwiches, HUGE portions, great pizza, and pasta the size of a turkey platter. They even have a rewards program you get one point for every dollar you spend and after you spend $100, you receive a $10 credit automatically. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and service out of this world . . . what more can you ask for in 2012?

Fun fact, I "recently" moved somewhat close to the "Hill". In fact, on the day that I finally found my apartment, my parents and I were driving down the road and stumbled upon a building adorned with a big, red, flashing sign-it read, "Joey B's on the Hill." Since we were famished from all of the decision making, we decided to give it a whirl. Now, Joey B's is not quite located in the same area as the rest of the Hill restaurants, so I was anxious to see what it was like-most of the others are sit down, semi-nice, lit by the light of 1,000 candles types of places. You know, your typical Italian joint--checkered table clothes and all. Joey B's was a little different as it looked a little more like a sports bar than most other places on the Hill--fewer candles, more big screen TVs. [Of course, my father was extraordinarily pleased that he could watch the Nascar race while we ate, so it was all good.] After looking over the menu, my mom decided to order the French Dip and my dad and I decided to split a pizza-half supreme, half BBQ chicken. That's half sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mushroom, green pepper & onion and half grilled chicken, red onion and provel cheese with BBQ sauce. Let's just be honest. This was a mistake. And the mistake was my fault. I was the one who ordered the BBQ half of the pizza and it just did not hold a candle to the "regular" half of the pizza. Yes, I'll admit that for once in my life a pizza with provel cheese on it--impressed me. I didn't expect that! But, the BBQ pizza was too sweet and I'm sad to say that we didn't eat much of it. Luckily, my dad let me have a little of his and I was so glad he did, because his half of the pizza was much better than mine. The pizza had a nice crunchy crust, but it didn't crumble and fall apart like some thin crusts can. Plus, the sauce was really good. Nice and tangy. In fact, I believe that the menu said that this was Rachel Ray's favorite pizza sauce--and who can argue with that? All in all, it was just good pizza. No, not the *best* I'd ever had, but good. Plus, it was pretty BIG too-definitely enough to share. So either go in expecting left overs or take a BIG appetite. Now that we've talked pizza, let's talk about the [unexpected] best part of the meal. My mom's french dip sandwich. Thin, juicy, sliced roast beef served with its own au jus and melted provel cheese on French bread. This sandwich was very moist and very flavorful. I would have to describe it as comfort food... to the point where I am seriously look forward to going there in the winter and having one. Plus, once again, I'm proud to say that I enjoyed the provel cheese on this dish! *gasp!* Maybe St. Louis is stealing my soul.... Or maybe Joey B's just knows how to use juuuustttt enough provel to bring the flavor palette in without overwhelming the taste buds. Yeah, I'll go with the second option. Other menu items that we selected included onion rings (very heavily breaded, but pretty good... your standard onion rings) and side salads (again, the provel cheese was good on these salads. Shocking!). It was all just very satisfying; a nice hearty, savory meal. So, what's the final judgement? The food was good (and partially changed my mind about provel cheese), the service friendly, and the atmosphere upbeat but not super exciting. I'd have to grade Joey B's like this: Food: A- Atmosphere: B Service: A Price: $ Portion Size: Large It truly seemed like a great place to grab a pizza and a couple beers and hang out with your friends. I definitely plan on returning and you should check it out too. Let me know what you think when you go! Happy eating!

I have been coming to this restaurant for quite a while now for trivia nights, going out to drink and dinner with the girlfriend. I am pretty much in love with everything on the menu from the pizza's to the pretzel bites/onion rings to the cheeseburgers. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the food items. All the staff are very friendly and I have never had any bad service. The staff keeps the place very clean which is always a plus for a restaurant. The urinal in the bathroom is SUPER cramped in between the wall, sink and stall. There is not much they could have done about they unless they tear down the back wall and expand into the parking lot. Parking has not been an issue lately especially since they bought the lot across the street which adds about 15 spots. One thing I am not very pleased with is that sometime when in the bar area there has been a group there on a couple of occasions that have lit up a cigarette even though Joey B's is no longer a smoking restaurant. We never saw any of the employees or management that passed them at the end of the bar ask them to extinguish their cigarette.

My impression is that this is more of a sports bar than an Italian Restaurant. Having dined in about 10 times, I guess I'm semi-regular. The new no-smoking rules have really helped a lot. The place used to reek to the point of turning around as you headed in the door. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken veggie pizza. My inner circle of friends and family constantly rave about the pizza, it's thin crust served on a cookie sheet and the usual tomato sauce it replaced with a garlicy white sauce that is fantastic. It's St. Louis style pizza. A lot of out-of-towners don't get St. Louis style pizza. Such haters, bring on the thin crust and the gooey cheese! Please support pizza diversity. Another great choice it the spinach salad with candied pecans and cranberries. I think the cheese is feta. Split it, it's way to much for one person. As Yogi Berra says, nobody goes there it's too crowded. Check it out.

I'm sorry, but my initial impression of this place was not good. I waited 25 minutes for a go order and never did receive the food. I finally gave up and left. They need to get it together and run the front of the house properly. Other people were coming in and waiting a LONG time to be seated--and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Maybe the food is good--I never got a chance to find out. The other annoying thing is the attitude of the staff--I get it: you are all young and beautiful, and work is a great place to meet people...but would it be too much trouble to stop flirting for a moment and do your job?

Awesome wings! The also have a great buffalo chicken salad and the mushroom ravioli is amazing! I go here often with my cousin and it's our most favorite place to grab a drink and watch a game with a fantastic dinner. I have never been disappointed on anything on the menu! Staff is great and it can for sure get busy during a game.

This is my only one star to date after about 30 reviews, and I realize that this has to do with my personal experience and after reading the reviews I bet this is not a frequent occurrence. Yet this WAS my experience. I stopped in around 9pm to grab some take-out. It was a little busy but the drinking crowd hadn't quite made it in yet, and the dining crowd was starting to head out. I placed my order about 15 minutes later, with the bartender who was nice, but a little frantic. I order a drink while I wait, with the expectation of waiting 20 minutes or so. I will fully admit I am a clock watcher...and it was amplified by the fact that this is a neighborhood bar and apparently I am not a neighbor. after 45 minutes of waiting the bartender came over and told me she was going to check on the order, it should be up. she walked to the end of the bar to tell a gentleman who appeared to be "manager" and he made his way to the kitchen after making his rounds of hand shakes and high-fives. It appeared as if it wasn't ready because the "manager" walked outside and enjoyed a cigarette with some patrons. I didnt get an update, so I am speculating it wasnt ready and that the "manager" actually checked. another 20 minutes passed so we are no over an hour for two take out dishes, when the bartender came over and said "let me go see if its up, it should be....take out orders usually take about 45 minutes." 45 minutes for two take out dishes is a bit excessive to me, to the point that if I had been informed of that in the beginning I probably would have gone somewhere else. over an hour for take out, might be expectable in the most of extreme circumstances, but without any communication is INSANE. So 70 minutes later the "manager" handed the bartender the to go bag. There was no explanation given and only an Im sorry from the bartender, to whom I still feel obligated to tip 15%. because at this point its a 2star review. The worst part of the evening came as I made my way out of the restaurant. The "manager" had returned outside for another cigarette break with the patrons, and as I passed through the crowd he didnt offer a thanks, im sorry, or how was your experience? no instead, the "manager" played the role of juvenile and stared at me as I cross the street, put the to go bag in the back, and then drive away. As the patrons went back inside he continued to give me the creepy stare. perhaps because i didnt offer up a high five to the "manager" i got the stare down. a drive from the hill to tower grove = cold take out, probably happens regardless but really just topped off the experience. just to recap, I leave my house in tower grove about 845 return home about 1030. if I walk out of the place and he says anything, i probably would come back. i had been there a few times before and it was about a 3star. but this was one of the most bizarre dining experiences of my life.

Joey B's is like a local Houlihan's or what have you. It is typical American fare. We love to frequent on Monday for trivia nights. Our server, Shannon, is the bomb dot com. Love her face for dealing with our drunken shenanigans!

My husband and I USED to really love this place. Over the past year, the service and food have been declining. I almost always order wings, and 70% of the time I have to send them back BC they are overcooked. The service is hit or miss and rarely do you get food and service when you dine there. The last two times we have been there has been not so great. We had great food and service, but then the manager yelled at our server in the middle of the floor. My husband is a restaurant manager and we were appalled by this behavior. Especially since that was the best food and service we had had there in a good while. Last night when we were there for dinner-we sat at the bar. The bartender was good, however she was swamped. She clearly needed help with attending to her full bar and also being the service bartender. The same manager that had yelled at our server the time before, was standing outside on his phone. I ordered wings and once again they were over cooked, the fries were like bricks. It will be a long time before we return there.

This place is loud and a little hectic but they were busy. Our server was great the adults had burgers and the kiddos had toasted ravioli. The burgers were huge and very good the only disappointment was they were well done but they may be the only option I don't remember the waitress asking. I think the T-ravs were home made they were really good and again the kids portion was big as well. We live nearby and will be back its a good option for neighborhood folks but probably not worth a long drive.

I have to say, I'm a Jersey Girl who is used to going to really great Italian restaurants. This was my first trip to the hill and it was awful! Honestly, how can you mess up spaghetti and meatball?? If I went to Schnucks and bought a jar of sauce and made a meatball out of cat food, it would've been better than that disgusting dish! Rachael Ray raved about their pizza....it's gross! If you are from St. Louis, you will like it, but I'm used to Mozzerella not PROVEL....ugh...never ever again will I go there!

The food is excellent here- the burgers are the best in St. Louis. Pizza is also very good, and the menu is pretty diverse for a bar and grill type place. The portions are all pretty big. I took away a star because as much as I love to eat here, it always takes a while. The service is good to average, but the food always takes a while, which is tough with small children. The prices are also more expensive than a lot of comparable restaurants. One of my favorite St. Louis restaurants, but only when we have the time and money!

We have visited Joey b's on the hill quiet a few times and had a good experience. We have also visited this location in south county once before our most recent visit and found the service and food to be pretty good. But this most recent experience was disappointing. The reason plain and simple was our server. And let me preface by saying we are very low maintenance people who just expect to get a refill on our drinks when they have been sitting empty for 10 minutes and we have asked for refills and to come by and check that our meal is to our liking. That's it. Pretty simple serving 101. Our server seemed more interested in talking to another table outside for at least 10 minutes on 2 different occasions. The other server who we finally flagged down got our refills, brought our food and basically did everything our server should have done. The food was fine, nothing spectacular, but the portions were gigantic and ridiculous. No table should be walking out with 5 to go boxes when each person only ordered 1 thing. I work in the restaurant business and I know that servers are a dime a dozen, and I think this server is one dime Joey b's would not be missing.

We've been to the location on the Landing a few years ago and enjoyed a pizza. Today was a stop in after a morning at the zoo. I LOVED my meatball sandwich served on garlic bread. The meatballs were excellent, and the bonus is they have tots as a side choice. :-) My husband had the firecracker chicken sandwich and my daughter had the Voodoo wrap. Both very good and have the same sweet and spicy sauce. Their menu is large -- lots of choices for everyone. The place was busy when we were there, but there is a lot of seating and the service was excellent.

Good food, good drinks, good service, thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I would recommend splitting the entree unless you're really (I mean really) hungry. Our waitress did a great job with a large group and split the checks up without complaint. Patio was a great environment for our gathering.

There is nothing precious or foodie or fancy about this place. It's comfort food, very well done. Like all the Gianino's places, there are burgers, "pub grub" and wings. Since this restaurant is located on the edge of The Hill, St. Louis's Italian neighborhood, there's an emphasis on Italian foods - American Italian foods. Pastas, steak mudega, chicken spedini and pizza. The pizza is St. Louis style, but the fresh crust and toppings lift it above the usual processed-cheese-on-a-cracker that St. Louis-style pizza can be. The ravioli with prosciutto is creamy, salty and delicious. The chicken spedini is far and away my favorite. Tender chunks of pretty lightly breaded chicken, grilled and served in a very garlicky, very lemony butter and wine sauce. Like I said, not fancy, but done very well. I like their burgers. I love their wings - they actually know how to make them crispy without turning them into charcoal sticks. The onion rings are ridiculous, only order them if you're sharing. Salads are huge and fresh, if not particularly memorable. The service is friendly and generally efficient. The value is excellent. My quibbles: the lights are a little dim and the music is a little loud. Comfortable, tasty, consistent. And that's why this place is always busy.

Service on this Fourth of July was really painful. The poor dear of a server just had CRS. Can't Remember Sh*t. Oh I will be right back with whatever. Oh I forgot I will be right back. Nope but three times was the charm. I ordered a specialty burger which consisted of bleu cheese and pesto sauce. This was my total mistake on my part. Too much flavor going on and really not very harmonious. The burger was served medium well and it was more well than medium. But standard what they are with undercooked food sure makes it hard on the establishment to serve at a safe temp. I am thankful they were open and what they served was what I ordered for the most part. I would come back but I am thinking why didn't get the pizza?

Pros: Friendly service, massive menu (wait for it) Cons: Massive menu, delay in food getting to our table, flavorless grilled chicken, boring fries Details: A co-worker recommended this place and I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. It arrived with a side of boring fries and the chicken had NO flavor. I could see sprinkles of spice but the chicken had no flavor. I asked for Heinz 57 sauce but no dice. I opted for A1 steak sauce instead. So it was a pretty awful lunch. I thought the prices were a bit much...sorta like bar food in a sense. Big disappointment. Oh...and "massive menu" being a con...tells me there's not much in the kitchen being made in-house and likely lots of big freezers. LESS is more. I appreciate a restaurant with a simple menu. This place isn't it.

The first sign that you're in for a real treat at Joey B's on the Hill is the fact that the building appears to have been expanded as many as six times since it opened, to accommodate the sheer number of people who want to eat there. Inside, there's a bar area, a dining room, a separate dining room that functions as a sort of overflow, that I'm thinking may have been added on, and what looks like some sort of year-round patio that's been added on to the overflow. As a result, the parking lot out front is only big enough for one car, on what would have otherwise been the sidewalk. We ended up parking across the street at what may have been a used car lot, running the risk of someone selling our car while we were inside eating. Definitely don't leave your keys on the front seat while you dine at Joey B's on the Hill. That's no judgment on the surrounding area, mind you -- I don't need my legs broken, I'm just trying to prevent any confusion. The interior at this location is surprisingly nice, apparently having been updated at some point in, I don't know, the past five years or so? I wouldn't go so far as to call it swanky, but it has a certain sheen to it, in an exurb subdivision display unit sort of way. There's huge TVs all over the place, for sports, plus other TVs that just display keno numbers, to add a little excitement to your dinner. The menu consists of typical bar food, i.e. appetizers, sandwiches and what have you, plus -- this being the Hill and all -- pizza and various other kinds of Italian food. It was a Sunday (yesterday evening) when I went, and they were running a special on fried chicken that came with an entire half a chicken, minus the neck and weird organ meats, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes and gravy. My mom got the fried chicken, and because she can't eat that much chicken, especially in public, I ended up eating some of it. That shit was amazing. It actually kinda reminded me of Banquet fried chicken. But obviously this was of a much higher quality. For appetizers, we had Buffalo wings, which they refer to as "hot and spicy"; butter garlic wings, redolent of Rawse's beloved lemon pepper wings, from Wingstop, minus the lemon dust; and t-rav. I remarked to my old man that those were the best t-rav I'd had in years. He said that if the t-rav weren't on point, in that area, a fight might break out. The menu is lengthy to the point where, if I'd decided to weigh all of my options, I'd still be reading it. I decided to just go with a burger. I went with the Cowboy Burger, which is Joey B's equivalent of Burger King's Western Bacon Cheeseburger, a/k/a the Western Bacon "Chee," as immortalized on the first Tenacious D album. It comes with bacon, onion rings, barbecue sauce, and some ungodly spreadable cheese substance. I'm a firm advocate of spreadable cheese on burgers, including the compound cream cheese they use at Culpeppers. With all that shit piled on it, the burger is too big to fit in your mouth (ayo) without running the risk of dislocating your jaw, and there's always the risk of huge, nasty globs of processed cheese falling from it and ruining your shirt. Your best bet is to use a stance known as the Hunch, popularized by my idol Guy Fieri. As much as I liked the Cowboy Burger, which I did, I don't know that I needed half of the shit that comes on it. If I had it to do over again, I might try to talk the waitress into putting that spreadable cheese substance on a regular old bacon cheeseburger. The fries, on the other hand, were run of the mill and kind of an afterthought. They weren't bad, but they definitely weren't anything special. I was given the option of ordering dessert, and I declined. There's never been a time in my life when I couldn't have eaten more food if I wanted to, but the combined effects of all of the processed junk that comes on the Cowboy Burger plus the fried chicken I ate, not to mention the apps, had me feeling like I was already tempting fate. I figured I'd better quite while I was ahead. Note that I mean this in the best way possible.

Never had a bad meal here. It's so good as far as taste is concerned. As far as calling this and Italian place, not so much. I would consider it more of American and Italian food because, let's face it, would you seriously find a cheeseburger on a real Italian menu. That being said, I will not subtract a star from them for being mislabeled on here. The times that I've gone, I've gotten white sauce pasta dishes. Both were really good. The white sauce is so tasty and not bland at all. I always seem to end up with a mundane white sauce everywhere else but here. Next food item, the onion rings! Those things are huge. I can believe the size and it seems to make a meal of itself. The onion rings have a good flavor on them. They taste good with or without the onion sauce. Then we have the salad. It is was extremely good. No major complaints. The one minor issue is that I seem to have gotten more topping then lettuce. But that is minor as most places seem to do that. This is all great and I would go back for it again and again. I can't wait for the next time that I do come back. It would be so delicious.

The pizza was horrible had to send it back.. Even though we didn't get a new one they tried charging us for it even though we literally only took a bite.. The server avoided talking to us about it and we had to get her attention and she said she will talk to the manager about it and came back making it seem like they were doing us a favor. I do not recommend this place.

I thought when I went to the Early Bird Special today I'd be joining a bunch of diners my age and older. To our surprise, we were the oldest ones in the dining room. It was all young professionals taking advantage of the $9.95 dinner special. Both of us enjoyed the 8 oz Ribeye which came with a salad and a side dish of your choice. I choose my favorite vegetable, asparagus as mine. It was five stalks, that were prepared perfectly. They were tender with just enough snap. My dining partner went with their pasta with red sauce. He said the penne noodles were done al dente and the sauce was a traditional marinara. The Ribeye's were tender and we both had them done medium rare. 8 oz may seem small to some, but it was the perfect size for a lite dinner. Our Early Bird Dinner also included a dinner salad, making this a very fulfilling meal. If you're on a budget or just want to save a few bucks, eat early (3PM - 6PM Monday-Thursday) at Joey B's and you'll enjoy a great meal.

This is my favorite place in all of St Louis. I first went to Joey B's on the landing back in June of 2013. I am in love with their SOB (sausage onion and bacon). It comes LOADED with meat. It's a little pricy for a pizza, but after having eaten it, it was worth it. You can have a ton of drinks and hang out here for a long time... which we usually do. This was my first time going to Joey B's On the Hill. We brought friends with us and it was their first time. And they loved it. You always hope somewhere you suggest for dinner works out. We sat in the bar area and had a great time and great food. We of course had the SOB pizza. They had some other pizza filled with meat.

I just drove into town. Wanted to eat before checking into my hotel. Passed a string of the typical fast food joints. Then nothing. Was about to turn around-to settle when I spotted Joey B's. I had been there once before and I turned right in. Sat in the bar. Got a menu right away. Was struggling with what to get-burger-wrap-Philly style... Then the waitress came up and announced the special and took away any doubt-any uncertainty. Just two words, Sloppy Joes. A great Joe is great food. I've had great Joes- I make awesome Joes. I ordered without hesitation. Didn't have to wait long at all- it arrived along with my fries. I've only ever seen Joes with the goods in excess-promising to drip out should I dare to lift and eat. I did not need to worry the goods didn't even make it to the edges. It was also covered with a white melted cheese. Odd but I try new things. Thank God for the cheese- it provided about the only taste. The tasted like three ingredients, ground beef, ketchup and the cheese. So bland, so disappointing. As to the fries, not house cut, likely frozen and equally bland. Pretty much the total experience-bland nothing special at all. Seems like they need a Joe throw down so as to experience a tasty Joe.

Got there on a Saturday night around 7, had a short wait. We ordered 1 pretzel bites for an appetizer, 1 pizza and 1 Caesar salad and water to drink. The salad was small but very good dressing. The pizza was small too and not worth $20.99.. The food was all good but not great the service was ok, had a new waitress who was reluctant to find out answers to our questions. All in All we had a nice time only because someone gave us a gift certificate. Our total bill was about $45.00 which seems high for what we ordered. Don't think we will be back unless we get another gift certificate.

Went here yesterday for lunch with my wife. We were expecting a sports bar but found it to have much more! My wife got a pasta dish, was asked if she wanted lunch portion or full and we went with full figuring she could have left overs and holy cow was that a nice serving of pasta! She will have left overs for days! I got a burger which was awesome. It had onion straws and BBQ sauce on it. They nailed it. I tried the home made chips and they were served warm which is always a plus to me. The server was a little weak, not too friendly and hard to wave down which is why I didn't give the place 5 stars. But from a food only perspective this place is great.

Joey Bs never disappoints. My husband and I try to stop here whenever we are in town. We have yet to have something we don't like. I recently ordered the buffalo chicken salad. Ummm... Yummy! I couldn't stop eating. Our wait staff was great and food came out warm.

Surprisingly nice inside! The food was a little pricey, but delicious! The toasted ravioli were okay. The pink sauce on my pasta side was great!

Love it. Food is yummy! Great salads, love the fettuchini Alfredo. BLT has a ton of B, Fried Chicken is wonderful but the most amazing is the Ravioli Prosciutto!! Service is good, bathrooms are typically clean. They have a $9.95 special between 3-6 PM best deal!!! The only downfall at Joey B's is the carpet. It can be a little smelly.

I really liked the vibe here. Sat at the bar instantly greeted and had a beer in less than a minute. I had the butter garlic wings....ordered them"trashed" which means they re fry them after they toss them in the butter garlic. Didn't see that option on the menu but asked and she said sure....they were great! I order wings from everywhere when I travel. The blue cheese bacon burger was great too...Happy hour is 4 to 7 and 2$ bottles of beer......

This a sports bar/restaurant. The food is good and the portions are huge. The waitresses are friendly. Oh yeah...the booths are kinda tight.

I have ate here a few times now. The food is consistent as well as the service. The country fried chicken was good. The pork nachos were delicious and massive. The beer cheese soup was good too. It's casual and has a nice bar. The only downside is it is a little bit pricey.

I'm a happy returning customer here. I Went here for my brothers Birthday lunch with my family. We were disappointed this round. I ordered the roast Beef and fries. It came out cold like it was sitting in the window. The rest of my family ordered hamburgers but they weren't asked how they would like them prepared. The service was awful, Mackenzie was our server. She came to out table three times the entire lunch. Drink order, serve food, and drop the bill. I had to ask her for drink( since she didn't) for the entire table!!! I was disappointed. No personality, no smile, not very welcoming and kind. I'll definitely be back but I hope she doesn't wait on us again!

I have consistently refused to review this place because I don't want the world to know what a freaking amazing restaurant Joey B's is, but here goes: I have never ordered anything on the menu I didn't like. The onion rings, the fried cheese, the seafood pastas, the macaroni and cheese, the sandwiches... everything is fantastic. The mac & cheese may be my favorite restaurant mac & cheese of all time. The seasonal drink menus are my favorite, and the bar staff is awesome. Definitely my go to. Literally. I have spent hundreds of dollars here.

We had a friend in from Florida who wanted classic St. Louis. So we felt the Hill was the right area. Our last-minute dinner party of 7 + 3 kids were coming in from all over St. Louis, and it is conveniently located by Hwy 44. The wait at 6pm on a Friday was around 30 minutes, not bad. We had drinks at the bar. We got sat in the back, which was perfect with the kids. The server was attentive. We got the nachos app for the table. I got the chicken modiga, which was excellent. I've tried to make this myself and not even close. My wife got the pizza, which is a thin crust with proved cheese. Classic St Louis!

I have to say the one thing about Joeybs that you get is great consistency from the food to the wonderful staff. There is something for every taste bud and excellent portions. And it has a lot of TVs.

I usually love this place but don't come here during the day. They are understaffed. I waited twenty minutes to get a water and be even spoken to. The manager was sitting up front not helping his busy bartender. Silly

Joey's is great for dinner or drinks before or after the game. They also make a great Bloody Mary. Buffalo chicken pizza rocks but I'm tied between the blue plate and tortellini as my favorite.

We walked here on Super Bowl Sunday for a carryout order (we'd been celebrating for a while already.) Being in the Amurica spirit, we ordered two of their 10 oz. burgers. They are freaking massive. And delicious. Classic burger flavor. And they've got a great variety-some have soft cheddar or fried onions, bleu cheese, etc. Great customer service.

I returned to Joey B's last night and again ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It just wasn't as good this time. The chicken was dry, and the pie needed a bit more sauce. Not bad... just ok. The shrimp appetizer we tried was great. A decent portion of large shrimp covered in a sweet and sour chili sauce. The music can be a little loud in the bar area. Happy hour offers a good discount on beer and well drinks and last until 7. The bartender broke a glass right over the ice bin. She picked out one large shard and continued to use the ice. That's a no-no.

We stopped for lunch on Sunday. We've tried to eat here before, but the wait was too long. We had a short wait on Sunday -- hostess said 30 minutes, but it was a little over 15. Their menu is very large. We were looking it over and trying to decide on what to order when the waitress delivered an order of onion rings to the table beside us. YUM! We ordered those right away! They arrived fairly quickly and were delicious! The rings are made from "real" onions and have probably never seen a freezer. We probably should have just stopped there, but ordered lunch. I had the Onion Jam burger with tater tots. The burger was OK -- not great and not worth ordering again. The tater tots were nasty (how do you mess up frozen tater tots??). Others in the group had a pasta dish (again, just OK) and a turkey wrap with fries. I think she enjoyed the wrap, but the fries were mediocre. Service was good even though the place was crowded. Several tables near us had small children. Most of the kids were well behaved, but, some weren't. Folks, if you ignore your misbehaving child, don't be surprised at the nasty looks you get. Take them to McDonald's until they learn how to behave or you learn how to raise children!

I love to get their Spinach Chicken salad, the apple cider vinaigrette is so tasty and they add a bunch of blue cheese and pecans. YUM! Their chicken speidini sandwich and pizza are other solid favorites - it's the provel...i'm a fan! I'm also a member of their VIP club which allows me points to redeem towards my bill. My lunch was free today!

I can tell this place is quite popular from all the loyal customers. And our service was pretty good. Each table gets a basket of warm sliced Itailan bread and butter, which was very good. Otherwise, I only had the Ravioli Prosciutto ($14). This had beef-filled raviolis among broccoli and prosciutto in a cream sauce. It was very good, and if I had a complaint at all, it was that the raviolis were swimming in the cream sauce, which just wasn't necessary, because the raviolis alone were pretty good. The sauce was so deep, I couldn't see half of the raviolis in the dish. Mind you, I know this is more of a turn-on than a turn-off for some people, so I'm just speaking from my taste. What did catch my eye was the table of 4 next to me who sat down and immediately stated the entire table was having The Steak Modiga ($26). This is a breaded 12-oz strip steak topped w/ provel, white whine, lemon butter, garlic sauce, mushrooms, and bacon. It looked pretty good from where I was sitting and came with a side pasta - your choice of white or red sauce on the pasta. It looked like there was a patio outside. The location has a small bar up front, plenty of TVs to watch the game, discounts for those who attended the baseball game that day, a TouchTunes jukebox, and one of those tabletop game systems (which we usually call a "crack machine" because of how addictive it is).

This place used to be good. I just had a two hour lunch, couldn't get out bc the waiter and kitchen was so slow. It took an hour to get a pizza. Then, we got the bill. They charge $3 per topping. We had a pizza with pepperoni, black olives, sausage and bacon.... $28. Wow! We asked the waiter, he Asked the manager she reduced the price which was nice, but a very small large pizza for $28 bucks. Old bread too. Food was not that good. It is not worth the money. Too pricy for bad food and service.

i had heard they got some accolades on great burgers. i tried one called "the hill" burger. nothing "the hill" about it, except maybe the cheese. bacon? why? nothing "hill" about that. average at best. part of menu is typical bar food, but they had pasta dishes and some other choices. pretty noisy at tables on the bar side, so ask for the other side. the old timers from the hill might not this this place is really on "the hill." decent service.

I've been here more times than I can count and have literally never been disappointed. Especially with the staff. STL has it's fair share of slackers in the serving world who have that "I don't care, I can get another job anywhere" attitude but not here. They are always very friendly, fast, attentive, and accurate. LOVE the staff! They also have a very nice atmosphere, a cool bar if you're in that mood or a nice dining room if you are with your family. Not to mention the patio! Small but gets the job done. The food is wonderful! Great house salad, St. Louis style pizza, burgers that are the best in town, and the list goes on. They also offer points cards, emailed coupons, and happy hour. I love deals :)

Meh. In my travels throughout the vast tundra that is the Midwest, I came across Joey B's on the Hill. It's a typical St. Louis sports bar, with typical bar food. I was told to try the "St. Louis Style Pizza" here and did so in a quest to find something that wasn't Pizza Hut. The result was an odd concoction-- picture ketchup on a saltine, lightly sprinkled with american cheese. That is the best description I have of "St. Louis Style Pizza". Anyway the people were really nice and it is a pretty cool atmosphere. Just not a dining destination.

Sports bar with an Americanized Italian menu. Expect large portions of very average food that comes frozen / canned with a lot of fanfare at a fair price. Very affordable and often busy so it can be noisy but everyone is in good spirits. Enjoy it for what it is and don't expect too much.

I really enjoyed my food here. I tried the chili which was as good as my homemade and the onion rings were huge. I had the chicken spedini sandwhich and it was not only good but tasted great as a left over. My asparagus was a little tough and my friends Rueben was not as good as it was tauted to be. We also split some of the fried pickles which were the sliced ones and awesome to boot. I would go back again and our server Lauren was excellent and acccomdating. Its good food and even the toasted ravs which I am not a fan of were good and not all breading with no meat. I will go back for sure!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
